Neon Genesis Evangelion
Evangelion enters the archive at its most painful hinge: Unit-01 lunging, fist out, the moment before Shinji kills Kaworu. The machine is a body; the body is a child; the violence is obedience.
Meaning
Untitled (Evangelion) takes the series' famous purple-and-green silhouette and reduces it to impact and negative space — the lunge without the aftermath. The sketches around it (Asuka, Rei, Misato and Kaji, the Rebuild studies) treat the cast the way the archive treats Ping Pong's: not fan art, but a source-world being learned by hand.

Open Questions
- Which episode/scene readings matter to the painting — the Kaworu moment only, or the whole series' theology of pilots and parents?
