Figure is the archive's base unit of exposure: a body placed where pressure, costume, witness, and performance can act on it.

Meaning

The figure tag is broad because the archive is built around bodies under conditions. The body can be boxer, witness, fool, preacher, pop star, cartoon, or nearly abstract trace.

A figure is not automatically a portrait. It is the place where action, role, and symbolic pressure collect. That is why figure travels with performance, icon, jacket, teeth, ghost, and red sun.

Reading the figure pages helps separate body from identity. Some figures are named people; others are types, roles, memories, or invented pressure bodies.
