Teeth are the smile made structural: evidence, threat, mask, injury, comedy, hunger, and the part of the face that refuses softness.
Meaning
Teeth turn expression into architecture. A smile can lie, but teeth make the lie countable. They are funny because they are cartoon simple and unsettling because they are bone showing through the face.
Humility (TEETH) makes the inventory explicit, but teeth are everywhere the archive wants a face to become evidence. Peco's grin, Sunburn's smile, skull mouths, monster mouths, lover mouths, and Spit and Co. faces all use teeth as the hard edge of feeling.
Teeth sit between mask and wound. They can be performed, bared, clenched, knocked out, or painted as a row of marks. They make the mouth less about speech and more about exposure.
A toothy face is rarely just happy here. It is trying to hold its shape under pressure.
