Cartoon logic is bastard causality: events with no reason but total comic necessity. The form is nonsense with perfect aim.

Meaning

Cartoon does not mean unserious. In this archive, cartoon is a formal engine: bodies survive impossible damage, jokes become law, animals become moral instruments, and humiliation resets into the next frame.

Doc Season gives the working grammar. Bugs has ladder access. Daffy has the stage. Elmer has the gun. Daffy can diagnose the trick and still get shot because diagnosis from inside the machine does not grant escape from the machine.

That logic travels into the paintings. Super Ducky is funny because the cape actually matters. I AM NOT A JOKE is funny because the duck-face is also a wound. Color Guy is funny because he can be friend, dog, boogieman, witness, commander, crying symbol, and absence without needing a normal biography.

Cartoon is the archive's permission structure for violent sincerity. It lets the painting say something unbearable by making it move like a gag. The fall is a joke until the body does not get back up. Then the joke becomes theology.
