Meaning

Pressure is not only impact. It is the condition before impact: the room tightening, the sun bearing down, the role becoming too small, the public looking too long.

The red sun is pressure from above. The ring is pressure organized into ritual. Blue text is pressure from language. Girardian rivalry is pressure between bodies. The contemporary-lane works add another version: image-feed pressure, the feeling that the face has already been converted into content.

Pressure matters because it explains why so many figures look mid-transformation. They are not simply posing. They are being pushed into a role, or out of one, or through one. Sometimes that produces heroism. Sometimes it produces comedy. Sometimes it produces a mouth full of teeth.
